Job Summary

George Fox Universitys Portland Seminary is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the part-time role as the Program Coordinator Center for Thriving.


About the Job:

The Program Coordinator supports the Director of the Center for Thriving in advancing the Centers mission to foster thriving communities of faith by nurturing clergy and empowering congregations. This role provides critical support for grant administration alumni engagement resource development and continuing education initiatives. The Program Coordinator will handle operational communication and event-related tasks to ensure smooth program delivery and partner engagement.


Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Grant Support
    • Assisting with administrative tasks related to existing Lilly Endowment Inc. grants including tracking program activities compiling data and preparing drafts for annual narrative and budget reports.
    • Coordinating purchasing requisitions reservations payments stipends and expense reporting for grant-funded activities.
  • Alumni Engagement & Communication
    • Supporting alumni network engagement through email updates resource sharing and event invitations.
    • Assisting in preparing content for the Centers website deans emails and Portland Seminary social media channels.
  • Event & Program Logistics
    • Providing logistical and hospitality support for Center-hosted events.
    • Coordinating registration materials surveys and follow-up communications for participants.
  • Resource Center & Content Management
    • Maintaining and updating online resources including doctoral projects theses and other scholarly works in collaboration with the Director.
    • Helping curate and post relevant articles videos and learning tools in collaboration with the Director.
  • General Administrative Support
    • Maintaining organized records of program activities participant data and communications.
    • Supporting communication with program participants.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others including employees students and the public in a spirit of teamwork respect and customer service.
  • By actions words and lifestyle be a Christian role model to students whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness respect and appreciation for diversity of culture background race sex political views expressions of faith etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Were looking for candidates who have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative service-oriented approach.
  • High attention to detail in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Two or more years of administrative or program support experience.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace email and databases.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative discretion and integrity.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Portland Seminary and George Fox University.

Preference Will be Given to Those Who Have the Following Attributes:

  • Administrative support experience in higher education or ministry-related context.
