This is a strategic leadership position where youll shape HR policies ensure compliance and serve as a trusted advisor to administration and implement and evaluate HR policies programs and activitiesLead recruitment selection and orientation processesCreate short and long-range HR planning strategiesServe as Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX CoordinatorEnsure compliance with federal and state employment lawsManage all leave of absences including FMLA ADA and PFMLOversee comprehensive benefits administration (health dental vision life insurance disability COBRA)Manage Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) and 403b/457 plansManage Workers Compensation and Risk Management programsLead the Safety CommitteeRepresent the district at hearings and legal proceedings as neededManage Information Systems for employee dataFull Job DescriptionCertification/License:Professional HR certification and school experience are highly valued such asSPHR or SHRM-SCPCriminal History Record Check (CHRC) which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of EducationEducation:Degree in Human Resources Business Public Administration or related fieldExperience:Minimum 5 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a management roleLive and Work in the Biddeford Maine CommunityLocated along the Atlantic coastline with miles of beachesViews of the Saco River to its westLess than 20 minutes south of the Greater Portland AreaIt is less than two hours north of to a growing population of diverse residentsPicturesque downtownMaines youngest city with a median age of 29 in the historic downtownThriving economyMany recreational opportunities including fishing hiking biking public parks and kayakingEqual OpportunityThe School Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
