JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Geosciences is seeking applicants for a part-time job of Undergraduate Research Assistant.
Job duties to include:
The student will prepare tephra samples for analysis including sieving washing photographing and describing samples.
They will mount the feldspar grains and any glass shards in epoxy to prepare them for geochemical analysis and run them on the electron microprobe under the supervision of Dr. Erin DiMaggio.
They will then interpret the results by comparing the data to previously published data on feldspars and glass to determine correlations among samples.
