The Workforce Development Director serves under the Director of Public Affairs and Policy within the School of Public Health and will oversee workforce development and workforce pipeline efforts in public health including for the Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) within Nevadas Department of Health and Human Services and between the School of Public Health and DPBH.

This position will work collaboratively with programs and stakeholders at DPBH UNR as well as community partners and other academic institutions. This position will oversee both the programmatic and fiscal components of the workforce development activities.

The Director will actively communicate and engage with DPBH and UNR staff and community partner organizations and agencies in a diplomatic and positive manner and will develop effective messaging communication strategies and partnerships to move required work forward.

Required Qualifications

A Masters degree and one year of related work experience. Related experience: Public health/health leadership; coordinating delivery of public health services or workforce development; budget preparation and control; interpretation of complex regulations supervision/management; program evaluation

Certification and Licensure:

• Drivers license

Schedule or Travel Requirements:

• Variable work hours (to include nights and weekends)

• Travel frequently and on short notice
