Our Psychological Examiner performs psychological assessments and clinical interviewing of patients. Administers standardized testing of cognition achievement emotional and neuropsychological function. Provides scientific and administrative assistance to cross-functional clinical teams and other attending psychologists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychological assessment and clinical interviewing of patients.
  • Administer standardized testing of cognition achievement emotional and neuropsychological function.
  • Under the supervision of attending psychologists facilitate feedback to referring physicians patients and/ or caregivers.
  • Assist with assessment needs for clinical service and research projects.
  • Provide scientific and administrative assistance to cross-functional clinical teams and other attending psychologists.
  • Collaborate with clinic and research staff (e.g. attending psychologists investigators CRAs) for quality assurance of clinical services and scientific protocols.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.


Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Masters degree in psychology or education required.


Minimum Experience:

  • 1 years of experience required in an applied setting.
  • Experience with psychological assessment measures commonly used in children adolescents and young adults.
  • Training or experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.

Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only

One of the following by the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology is required within 1 year of hire:

  • (LC:PSY-ASST) Certified Psychological Assistant
  • Psychological Examiner
  • Senior Psychological Examiner
  • Psychologist

SUMMARY:

The Psychology Clinic at St. Jude is seeking to hire a clinician who enjoys and is skilled at conducting psychological assessments. Candidates must be either a Certified Psychological Assistant in the state of Tennessee eligible for such certification by the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology or licensed as a Psychological Examiner or a Senior Psychological Examiner in the state of Tennessee.

The ideal candidate will have experience both conducting and scoring standardized norm-referenced individually administered performance-based assessments (e.g. Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 5th ed; Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement 3rd ed; Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System; etc.). Additionally the ideal candidate has strong communication skills is detail oriented enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has previous experience conducting psychological assessments with youth with complex medical histories.

School psychologists individuals licensed as a Senior Psychological Examiner or a Psychological Examiner by the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology and Certified Psychological Assistants with relevant experience or those eligible for such certification by the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology are encouraged to apply.

As one of our clinicians you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to both the clinical care of individual patients and to ongoing research focused on the developmental psychological and neurocognitive functioning of patients treated at St. Jude. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of attending psychologists the selected candidate will

  • Conduct both comprehensive and abbreviated developmental and neurocognitive assessments and related services with patients in the Psychology Clinic assessments are completed in the context of research protocols as well as to address clinical needs.

  • Work with attending psychologists to conduct psychological assessments.

  • Summarize assessment findings contribute to written feedback of performance to patients and families.

  • Collaborate regularly with clinic and research personnel communicate with medical teams and consult with the teachers and school liaisons from the St. Jude School Program.

  • Provide scientific and administrative support to the attending psychologists

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65520 - $114400 per year for the role of Psychological Examiner.
