Job Summary

Title: Continuous Improvement Analyst

Location: San Diego CA 92121

Job Type: 6 months contract to hire

Shift: M F 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

Pay Rate: $32.00 - $41.00 hourly on W2

Job Summary:

  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual to drive implementation of the Clients Continuous Improvement Structured Approach.
  • Works closely with employees at all levels of the organization teaching coaching and mentoring to drive a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving utilizing the lean and six sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Develops CI capability at all levels of the organization.
  • Positively leads change and improvement towards strategic objectives through facilitation and training of teams and individuals.
  • Monitors teams progress and supports as necessary to drive project implementation and sustainability.

Education And/or Experience:

  • Minimum two years experience in Operations Management/Continuous Improvement or equivalent.

Language Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus). Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully an individual should be a proficient user of Microsoft Office Word Excel Visio and Power Point.
  • Additional computer skills a plus. AutoCAD skills a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Continuous Improvement Site Leader to set goals based on customer and business needs.
  • Equips employees with the tools and knowledge to drive improvement throughout.
  • Must be able to manage and interact effectively with diverse groups and personalities.
  • Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint Visio. AutoCAD a plus.
  • Must have strong written and presentation skills.
  • Coordinates mapping of value streams to develop improvement targets.
  • Directs continual improvement team efforts.
  • Facilitates team meetings and kaizen events.
  • Supports and positively drives 5S improvements.
  • Provides training/education to associates at all levels.
  • Consults with suppliers and customers as needed to achieve goals.
  • Motivates and mentors others in continuous improvement culture.
  • Inspires a culture of change and improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directs coaches and empowers employees at all levels to solve problems and make improvements at their level.
