The Sr. Manager Molding & Tooling Engineering leads strategic and technical initiatives related to injection molding processes mold/tooling design and manufacturing optimization. This role ensures tooling solutions are innovative cost-effective scalable and meet performance and quality standards. The Sr. Manager Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with design quality supply chain and manufacturing teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement across global this role a typical day will include:
- Strategic Planning Develop and execute long-term strategies aligned with manufacturing goals.
- Oversee Mold Design & Fabrication Manage internal and external resources for mold design build and validation.
- Drive Process Optimization Improve molding processes for efficiency quality and cost reduction.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling readiness for new products.
- Manage Tooling Lifecycle Oversee maintenance refurbishment and replacement planning for molds and tooling assets.
- Vendor & Supplier Management Evaluate and manage tooling suppliers to ensure quality cost and delivery performance.
- Ensure Compliance & Safety Maintain adherence to safety standards regulatory requirements and internal quality systems.
- Budget & Cost Control Develop and manage budgets for overhead and capital expenditures.
- Team Leadership & Development Lead and mentor junior management a team of engineers and technicians fostering technical growth and collaboration.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support Provide expert guidance on molding and tooling issues impacting production. Possesses sound understanding of Scientific Molding Principles.
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 15 yrs; Assoc.11 yrs; M.S.4 yrs; PhD3 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
- 7 Years of Relevant Experience
- 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
