Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera serves as the second highest ranking elected or appointed official in the executive branch of the State of Colorado. The Office of the Lt. Governor works closely with the Office of the Governor to ensure the effective implementation of the Polis-Primavera Administrations priorities. The Office of the Lt. Governor leads a broad portfolio of programs including Aerospace and Defense the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs Disability Policy the Office of eHealth Innovation the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care and Serve Colorado.

Position Title: Press and Community Engagement Coordinator
Salary:$57700-$66000 annually
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary of Functions: The Press and Community Engagement Coordinator reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) to the Lt. Governor. This position is responsible for coordinating all press community and stakeholder engagement and communications needs for the Office of the Lt. Governor and its programs. This position aids in content creation including speeches and remarks digital content memos articles reports op-eds and other materials; helps advance and staff external events; is a liaison between the Office of the Lt. Governor and the Governors Communications and Community Engagement team; and supports the Governors press team.
Ideal candidates for this position will be exceptional writers strategic thinkers and effective communicators who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with a wide range of program areas and stakeholders including media elected officials cabinet members advocates and members of the public. They will take initiative to prevent and solve problems by proposing and implementing solutions. They will also have outstanding organizational and time-management skills the ability to carry out assignments independently and can establish and maintain effective personal relationships with peers supervisory staff state agencies senior elected officials and external stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced and quickly changing work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Skills
Required: Valid Colorado drivers license and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Lt. Governors Deputy Chief of Staff and is part of the Office of the Lt. Governor. This position may supervise interns.
Expected Annual Travel:In-state as needed for official events. Potential out of state travel.
Education/Experience:Three or more years of experience ideally within a communications background. Must possess exceptional organizational and customer service skills and the ability to maintain confidential information as well as acute attention to detail. Exemplary written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with a broad array of partners and stakeholders including elected officials Cabinet officials state agency personnel community partners. Ideally experience with drafting remarks for senior leaders or elected officials.
