About the role

NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory planning design delivery and support services.

NSW Public Works currently has an exciting vacancy for a Cadet Construction Project Officer to join our Greater Sydney Project Team in Parramatta. Our work is primarily office based client focused and will include construction site visits. We manage consultants construction contractors and procurement matters for our clients. In this role you will be assisting in delivering tasks and projects that demonstrate understanding and application of best practice project management or engineering principles to achieve client satisfaction performance targets and provide excellent client service. As a member of the NSW Public Works team you will be participating in preparation of concept and detailed design for a range of infrastructure projects.

Our expectation is that your knowledge gained through your studies and attention to detail will add significant value to our projects.

About you

We are looking for a motivated Cadet Construction Project Officer who is willing to learn from senior staff and who thrives on working on multiple projects where your technical excellence will be developed.

It is a requirement of the role that you are currently completing a university course in engineering construction management or other relevant area of study. You will also need to hold a current NSW Driver Licence with a willingness to drive to and work in remote locations which may include overnight stays.

Your current strengths will include good verbal and written communication skills.
