A leading FMCG is seeking an energetic proactive Stores Controller to oversee the entire lifecycle of inventory across the warehouse.
Salary:
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using specialized management software (like SAP or similar systems). Regularly conduct and supervise full stock takes and cycle counts to minimize discrepancies and investigate all variances.
- Oversee the efficient and accurate receiving of all incoming materials/products and reconcile them against purchase orders.
- Ensure the correct and timely issuing of finished goods and raw materials to production or distribution teams (often adhering to FIFO/LIFO principles to manage product freshness in FMCG).
- Replenishment: Monitor stock levels continuously track usage rates and forecast supply and demand to prevent both costly overstocking and debilitating stock-outs (OOS). Initiate purchase requisitions to replenish stock as appropriate.
- Supervise the warehouse/storeroom layout to optimize space utilization accessibility and product flow. Ensure goods are stored safely and correctly to prevent damage or spoilage (critical for FMCG).
- Develop and enforce strict security systems and procedures to minimize stock pilferage theft and loss. This includes managing access and if required monitoring CCTV.
- Enforce all company and regulatory health and safety standards within the storage area ensuring a safe working environment for all store personnel.
- Supervise the preparation and maintenance of all documentation associated with stock movements (inbounds outbounds returns adjustments) for financial and audit purposes
- Work closely with the Procurement team regarding supplier orders damaged goods returns and delivery discrepancies. Collaborate with the Finance team for costing budgeting and month-end reporting.
- Generate and analyze daily weekly and month-end stock reports on stock levels usage trends stock valuation and variances to inform management decision-making
