A Day in the Life

The Privacy Specialist Global Privacy Assessments (Specialist) supports Medtronic businesses and functions in the development of Medtronic products services and solutions by providing expert privacy advice performing Privacy Third Party Risk Assessments (TPRA) and working with the business to validate identified privacy issues and support remediation tracking.

As a member of the Privacy Assessment team this privacy professional will focus on providing high quality and efficient TPRAs. The Specialist will work directly with the business internal clients and third parties to complete TPRAs review third party privacy controls and provide privacy consultations and support. The Specialist will also work collaboratively with applicable Operating Units Global and Regional Privacy Advisors on conducting and advising on the various aspects of TPRAs.

Additionally the Specialist will actively participate in and/or lead projects and activities that enhance the functions and processes of Medtronics global privacy operations.

The Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager Privacy Assessments in Global Privacy Operations in close cooperation with and including oversight from the respective dedicated Global and Regional Sr. Privacy Advisors and is a key member of the Office of Privacy Integrity and Compliance (OPIC).

As a member of the Privacy Assessment team the Privacy Specialist will work with Medtronic business partners and third parties to review products services and solutions assess third party privacy controls provide privacy guidance and support and support the business in remediating privacy risk. The Privacy Specialist will also have opportunities to participate in various projects and activities within the Privacy Assessment Team as well as on the larger Office of Privacy Integrity and Compliance (OPIC) team.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Conduct timely and high-quality Third Party Risk Assessments assessing privacy controls determining relevant privacy requirements and providing privacy guidance and deliverables.

Collaborate with Regional Privacy Partners Legal and other business stakeholders and project owners to discuss privacy risk and remediation options.

Support and contribute to process improvement and enhancement projects and initiatives.

Effectively manage working relationships and pursue new working relationship at all levels of the organization.

Lead by example to model a culture of ethics and integrity exercise sound judgment and courage as a trusted partner for the business and to the team.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Bachelors degree with 2 years of privacy experience; or an advanced degree

Familiarity with privacy and data protection laws and standards (i.e. HIPAA CCPA GDPR LGPD etc.)

Ability to apply requirements and standards to complex issues and identify tangible solutions preferrable in relation to compliance with privacy and data protection requirements

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Experience conducting privacy assessments

Experience with Risk Management platforms (i.e. OneTrust)
