Event Coordinator/Tech Assistant

Role: The Event Hosting Assistant will play a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment for various events hosted at our church. This position requires flexibility with hours as events may occur during weekdays evenings and weekends.

Position: Part-Time Non-exempt with hours as needed

Reports to: Property Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

Open and close the building for scheduled events.
Set up event spaces according to provided instructions and diagrams.
Manage audio/video resources such as sound systems microphones projectors and screens.
Provide excellent customer service to all event attendees ensuring their needs are met with a friendly and helpful attitude.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of event spaces before during and after events.
Work collaboratively with the event organizers and other staff members to ensure the seamless execution of events.
Uphold the values of love compassion and hospitality in all interactions with community members to reflect the teachings of Jesus.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A committed Christian living in accordance with the Bible whose ethics and behavior reflect the values therein
Is self-motivated organized and committed to humble servitude
Has general knowledge of media equipment ProPresenter and their applications in a church setting
Is a member of Severns Valley
Agrees with the Constitution and By-Laws of Severns Valley
Previous experience in event hosting customer service or related field is preferred.
Ability to work varying hours including evenings and weekends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of audio/video equipment is a plus.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment/materials up to 30 pounds.
A passion for serving others and exemplifying Christian values through hospitality.
