About the role

As Turf Maintenance Team Leader youll be entrusted with delivering consistent high-quality turf surfaces at Cricket Central. Youll lead maintenance planning and delivery across mowing irrigation preparation and renovation- from elite match days to community training sessions.

In this role you will:

• Supervise and work beside a small hands-on team caring for playing surfaces and surrounds
• Plan and execute maintenance to meet elite performance and community standards
• Prepare the ICC-standard oval and practice areas to exacting quality every season
• Monitor turf health and respond early to issues using modern tools and methods
• Coordinate with site stakeholders contractors and event staff
• Adhere to and promote a safety-first work culture

This role is about leadership through action- guiding a crew shaping consistency across iconic turf spaces and contributing to the legacy of a ground that supports elite athletes and local clubs alike.

What you bring

Must-haves:

• Proven experience in turf care horticulture greenkeeping or sports fields
• Experience in turf pitch curating
• A current drivers licence
• A strong safety mindset and pride in quality workmanship

Strong pluses (not deal-breakers):

• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or related
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a small team
• Exposure to elite or high-use sports surfaces
