Reporting to the President and CEO the Executive Vice-President CBC - English Services (EVP) is a key member of CBC/Radio-Canadas Senior Executive Team responsible for the strategy and day-to-day leadership of CBCs English-language services across news radio television and digital platforms. Leading a workforce of over 3000 employees in a highly unionized environment the EVP oversees a portfolio that unites creative editorial and operational teams to deliver trusted journalism distinctive entertainment and meaningful digital experiences. This leader will drive transformation across people content and technology. A critical component of this leadership will be to enhance deep collaboration across all media lines particularly with Radio-Canada - French Services and to strengthen partnerships with essential corporate groups including Technology and Infrastructure Legal Services People and Culture Finance and Corporate Development. Furthermore the EVP will modernize production models embed diversity and inclusion in decision-making and ensure CBC remains agile innovative and deeply relevant to Canadians in a fast-changing media landscape.


The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive who blends strategic foresight with creative vision. With experience leading large bilingual media organizations they bring the judgment discipline and imagination to drive innovation across news entertainment and digital platforms. Equally at ease in boardrooms newsrooms creative strategy meetings and community forums they build trust through integrity collaboration and respect. Skilled in managing complex stakeholder dynamics from the independent production community and unions to global media partners they embody a deep commitment to public service. This position requires a working level of French or a strong commitment to developing their proficiency. The Corporation is committed to linguistic duality and to supporting the selected candidate in attaining or maintaining their French language skills as they take on a national role shaping a narrative that reflects Canadas regional cultural and Indigenous diversity.
