We currently have an opportunity for an Education Coordinator to join our team based in Bristol. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis you will receive a competitive salary of up to 30000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About The Role:
At Pennon we recognise that it is really important to educate future generations about the value of water as a precious resource. We think it is essential that everyone knows where water comes from understands its importance and the pressures our water resources are under.
That is where our Education Programme comes in! Working closely with the Pennon Community Engagement Team to highlight the great work we are doing across our supply region you will engage with our schools customers and the wider community. The aim of this work is to help us deliver on some of our core company targets including encouraging our customers to use water wisely and to get a water meter.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Lead the delivery of our schools mentoring programme which includes the creation and delivery of school lesson plans which you will be delivering in primary school classes and assemblies within the Bristol Water area.
- Lead the development and delivery of our water fountains project which involves promoting the existing water fountains to the public to positively impact the community as well as oversee the creation of future water fountains as required.
- Identifying and preparing volunteers for events and providing support at the events to ensure that the events run smoothly
- To enhance the online content made available to schools.
- Act as a link to other social contract projects to help maximise the opportunity for education.
- Support the development and coordination of a volunteering approach for Bristol Water utilising employee volunteering days to help deliver our community projects.
- Work with the volunteering team across the Pennon Group for support on strategy and approach
- Represent the company externally working collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver community benefits for example liaising with schools event organisers local councils and local charities when required.
- Work closely with the wider communications team to develop plans and content to support our social contract programme and key messaging
- Ability and willingness to support education and community team across all Pennons Water businesses as and when required.
What we are looking for:
- Good knowledge of the education sector ideally with Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 teaching experience
- Experience producing engaging teaching materials in a variety of formats
- Deliver results with limited supervision and tight deadlines
- Stakeholder management
- Experience working in partnership with other organisations on delivery and promoting and expanding programmes to new audiences
- Ability to travel and work flexibly
