Heres how a Manager Integrated Construction Technology (BIM) for our Montreal office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Ensures that virtual models from plans specifications and elevations are built and reviewed.
- Manages integrated construction resource allocation at the district level and leads department process improvement activities.
- Liaises with estimating to establish and manage staffing resources and budgets for new pursuits and projects.
- Participates in project interviews and proposal writing in respect to virtual design construction VDC and other integrated technologies.
- Communicates best practices across projects and districts and facilitates sharing.
- Leads the setup management and best practices of digital workflows.
- Oversees the coordination and management of trade detailing and design deliverables across multiple projects.
- Liaises between design teams and construction teams.
- During the pursuit stage works with the project team to review and recommend scopes that VDC tools and processes can be incorporated into the project and allocates VDC resources accordingly.
- Participates in scoping design deliverables and trade detailing requirements.
- Participates in the pursuit and proposal of a project including the narrative and presentation material development and delivery.
- Drafts VDC and ICT contract language and/or ensures it is incorporated into the design or subcontract agreement. Develops BIM (Building Information Model) execution plan
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree diploma or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g. architecture engineering and construction (AEC) civil architectural).
- Minimum of 8 years of construction-related industry experience including 5 to 6 years of virtual Design and Construction related experience.
- Expert understanding of construction sequences.
- Advanced understanding of and proven experience implementing construction technology.
- Ability to develop model management procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of the building construction process and the various building components involved at each stage of construction.
- Advanced ability to oversee and ensure the quality of virtual construction models from design and trade partners.
- Understanding of trade detailing and design workflows.
- Advanced ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and translate 2D drawings and specifications into a complete 3D/4DBuilding Information Model.
- Advanced understanding and training in 3D modeling software.
- Experience with 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
