Summary: Responsibilities will require knowledge of U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Export Administration Regulations (EAR) Wassenaar Arrangement Dual-Use List and harmonized tariff schedules.
What you will be doing:
- Developing and improving internal processes on classifying products (both hardware and software).
- Assigning export control classification numbers (ECCNs) to software technology integrated circuits electronic assemblies and computer systems primarily described in Categories 3 4 and 5 (Parts 1 and 2).
- Assigning tariff classifications (HTS and schedule B) to items primarily described in Chapter 84 85 and 90.
- Support global shipping transactions and dispositions.
- Working with cross-functional teams to improve work efficiency related to classifications.
What we need to see:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in engineering or computer science.
- 5 years of experience in export classification in the high-tech industry.
- Expertise in product classification (HS-Code / ECCN).
- Understanding of U.S. EAR and other export control regulation jurisdictions.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word PowerPoint Excel) and SAP.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Versed in software and large language model (LLM) development activities.
- Implementation of process and system improvements for streamlining workflow.
