Job Summary

Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Governance & Risk Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of strategic governance initiatives and enhance compliance and risk management frameworks across Council operations.

What We Offer

Competitive salary under the QLD Local Government Industry Award ( Stream A Level 7 (OAP) - $100000 to $109000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) Superannuation.
5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading)
Monthly RDO (13 per year)

What Youll Do

Develop and manage governance and risk frameworks across the organisation.
Coordinate policy reviews internal controls and regulatory compliance activities
Oversee the Audit & Risk Committee and internal audit function.
Maintain strategic and operational risk registers.
Provide advice on legal matters privacy fraud prevention and public interest disclosures.
Ensure Council meets all relevant legislative and reporting requirements.
Lead governance training and build a culture of accountability and integrity.

Qualifications Needed

Mandatory:

A current Police Clearance

Desirable:

Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration Law or a related field.
Experience in governance compliance or risk within local government or a similar sector.
A current and unrestricted C class drivers licence.
Pre-employment medical (fitness for work) may be required.
