Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in a natural resources-related field with at least one degree related to wildlife or wildlife management is required (by date of hire). Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid drivers license.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Required skills include the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to a non-technical audience orally and in writing and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and collegial work environment. Flexibility to travel throughout the state is required; traversing forested terrain with diverse topography in a variety of climate conditions is associated with the position as well.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience planning and implementing wildlife management programs with private forest landowners state forestry or wildlife agencies or other wildlife management practitioners certification as a natural resource professional by The Wildlife Society or state registration board and demonstrated knowledge of the land-grant mission and role of Extension.
