Overview:

JFCS of the Suncoast is seeking a passionate and skilled Family Therapist (LCSW/LMHC) to join our dynamic team person-centered professionals. As a vital part of our agency recognized for excellence in psychotherapy services you will provide outpatient and tele-therapy services to diverse populations helping families overcome behavioral social and emotional challenges. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate and diagnose behavioral social or emotional issues.
  • Provide individual family and group counseling ensuring progress and effectiveness of treatments through ongoing monitoring and re-evaluation.
  • Meet productivity goals as determined by your supervisor while delivering exceptional care.
  • Attend departmental and agency meetings and participate in ongoing training to enhance your skills.
  • Prepare and submit reports for quality improvement (QI) activities grant deliverables and other agency needs.
  • Maintain compliance with agency protocols legal and contract requirements and professional standards for record-keeping and documentation.
  • Respond to client phone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Commit to some evening hours each week to accommodate client needs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters in psychology social work or related field.
  • Licensure: LMCH LCSW or ability to obtain within 2 years.
  • Experience: 2 years in behavioral health counseling preferred.
  • Other: Valid Florida drivers license ability to respond outside regular hours and pass criminal background check.
  • Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to provide therapeutic counseling for individuals families and groups across diverse populations and age groups.
  • Expertise in trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Strong clinical documentation and record-keeping skills with proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare standards for care and documentation.
  • Commitment to professional development in areas such as domestic violence trauma substance abuse and exploitation of vulnerable populations.
  • Excellent time management organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and related tools.

Training Requirements:

  • Attend all JFCS mandatory trainings.
  • Maintain active licensure in Florida by completing all required CEUs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility throughout agency location and ability to sit through client sessions and meetings.
