POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to our financial operations. This is a primarily in-office position at our Philadelphia headquarters office.
Your role is to oversee financial operations related to one or more assigned properties while performing as a valuable team player. Candidates with an active CPA License will be given priority.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all processes month-end closing processes.
- Review and ensure accuracy of all general ledger accounts and monthly workpapers.
- Prepare timely monthly financial statements on an accrual or cash basis.
- Develop and monitor budgets together with the property management teams.
- Respond to escalated property management needs and issues.
- Prepare financial analysis to inform management decisions.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to design and implement process efficiencies and to assist in the development of such.
- Mentor other team members.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Adherence to the companys mission and values in all aspects of the job.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting.
- Must have 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in public accounting and/or real estate/construction accounting.
- Proficiency in property management software like Entrata Yardi or Appfolio.
- A solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the highest level of integrity.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire and ability to learn quickly.
- Responsive and open to feedback and growth.
- Effective communication with all stakeholders including employees management and other departments.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The compensation for this full-time exempt position ranges from $85000/year and up commensurate with qualifications and experience. This full-time position is considered exempt from overtime pay under the federal and state wage and hour laws. GY Properties offers a competitive compensation package that includes company paid medical insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company matching dental and vision insurance vacation and paid time off an employee referral program complementary employee parking and opportunities for continuing education and training.
