In this role youll lead a crew of construction professionals while performing journey-level electrical work such as installing maintaining and repairing systems up to 600 volts. From wiring and breaker panels to motors generators and control systems youll tackle diverse challenges that keep our operations powered and productive.

What to Expect-

Among thevaried range of responsibilities held within this role the Electrician Lead will


  • Independently function as a fully qualified electrician to perform skilled installation maintenance and repair work on low voltage electrical equipment and systems of 600 volts or less.
  • Install modify maintain and repair interior wiring and cables connections for electric machines switches and controls fuse boxes breaker panels distribution and instrument panels buzzer and bell circuits and hearing and power circuits.
  • Install adjust maintain modify and repair electric motors equipment and instruments such as pumps (up to 300 hp) fans metering devices power tools motors and generators.
  • Inspect electric systems and equipment to detect and correct faulty or worn parts.
  • Perform electrical testing including voltage amperage and meg-ohm for assessing electrical efficiency and motor degradation.
  • Schedule and coordinate dates for arrival or supplies and equipment.
  • Identifies needs and deficiencies in the plan/schedule and communicates these to the Construction and Maintenance Project Supervisor.
  • Oversees the execution of the work including quality production and safety by ensuring that crews work to job specifications and follows all agency standards.
  • Continuously inspects completed work making sure it is up to code and specifications and initiates timely problem resolutions.


Working Conditions:

Work setting including hazards: Duties are performed at construction sites on hatchery and wildlife areas and on occasion in a fabrication shop. Hazards include working on rough terrain riverbanks slippery slopes and other surfaces confined and difficult to reach spaces and working and driving in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat rain or snow. Bending stooping squatting twisting pushing pulling and lifting of 50 pounds repetitively when loading and unloading trucks or moving materials around project site.

Operate motor vehicles in hazardous weather conditions such as snow and ice while on mountain passes highways and roads (both paved and unpaved).

This position may involve working in or near water including tasks that require navigating negotiating and performing duties related to water environments.

Schedule:This position is full-time working 40 hours per week. The standard work schedule is Monday Thursday 6:00 am 4:30 pm and includes the potential for occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Alternative schedules may be considered based on business needs.

Travel: This position will be required to travel up to 60-80% depending on season.

Tools and Equipment: Electrical test equipment including Volt-ohm meter megger phase rotation meter and ammeter. Pipe benders and threaders Sawzall and band saw drill motors impact drives roto hammers wrenches sockets screwdrivers hammer hacksaw knockout punch and runs platform scissor and telescopic lifts and mini excavators.

Customer Interaction: Frequent interactions varying between Federal Local Inter-Agency and Intra-Agency customers and vendors.


Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:


  • Washington State Journey-Level Electrician certificate (EL01).
  • Completion of a recognized electrical inside wireman apprenticeship program with certificate of completion
  • Two (2) years of journey level electrical trade experience including installing maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems generators and industrial motor and control circuits.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.)


Licenses: Valid drivers license


Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the required qualifications our ideal applicant will possess one or more of the following:

  • Two years of experience in water distribution and pumping systems and principals to include motor controls
  • Two years of experience with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Soft Starts.
  • One (1) year of experience working from blueprints plans sketches schematics and varying diagrams
  • One (1) year of experience troubleshooting diagnosing and repairing simple limited energy systems such as: alarms communications and sensor loops.
