DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION
At Senior Tax Quantity Surveyor level your role will include but not be limited to:
- Undertaking client engagements
- Ensuring engagements are undertaken efficiently and in budget
- Making sure that MBMs work in carried out in accordance with our Quality Assurance requirements
- Overseeing the quality of the work undertaken by junior staff
- Representing and promoting MBM in the market
- Assisting with Business Development activities including preparing fee proposals
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Technical Requirements
With some supervision provision of Tax Depreciation and Asset Advisory services including
- Tax depreciation capital allowances schedules
- Tax depreciation - estimates of allowances and depreciationmodellingand auditing
- Tax depreciation - depreciationmodellingand auditing
- Asset registers including ongoing management of asset registers
- Insurance replacement cost assessments
- Capex forecasting
- Maintenance reserve fund & capital replacement fund reports
- Sinking fund reports
Meetings:
Attend all meetings with Client and/or project team and MBM Directors and staff as required
Management Requirements:
Practice requirements:
- Conform with Work Health and Safety requirements of MBM
- Conform with Quality Assurance requirements of MBM
- Conform with Anti-Discriminatory requirements of MBM
- Conform with MBM Policies and Procedures
- Apply MBMs Quality Assurance
- Competently engages the use of MBMs intranet and its features
- Track time spent on Projects
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain accuracy in all aspects of your work
- Orderly and analytical approach
- Work efficiently and effectively
Business requirements:
- Conform with company objectives values and culture
- Attend industry functions and build networks
- Develop relationships with current and new clients
- Assist with preparation of proposals and tenders
- Assist in the growth and development of MBM
- Attend training and development courses as required
- Maintains engagement profitability
Skills And ExperiencesQualifications and Skills:
- Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen or hold Permanent Residency.
- Education: Hold a degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Quantity Surveying roles particularly in capital allowances (tax depreciation) or similar.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and capable of using CostX and Buildsoft.
- Accreditation: AIQS/MRICS qualified or working towards it is beneficial but not essential. Registered Tax Agent is also beneficial but not essential.
- Communication Skills: Strong numerical literacy verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
- Learning Attitude: A desire to learn quickly take feedback constructively and apply new knowledge.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate a professional attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Organizational Skills: High level of personal organization and time management.
