Pharmacy Technician Oncology Department
BJC/Saint Lukes Hospital Kansas City MO
BJC/Saint Lukes Hospital in Kansas City Missouri is seeking a Pharmacy Technicianto join our Oncology Department. This position plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists by preparing compounding distributing and maintaining medication inventory in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick fill and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to designated areas.
- Prepare and compound medications including sterile products chemotherapy agents and specialized dosage forms (e.g. topicals oral liquids).
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies within the pharmacy department.
- Respond to phone and window inquiries assisting with medication requests and general questions.
- Participate in departmental and technician meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required within 18 months of hire.
- Previous experience in a hospital or oncology pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
