The HKU Kadoorie Centre

Founded in the mid-1980s through the visionary philanthropy of Sir Horace Kadoorie and Lord Lawrence Kadoorie the HKU Kadoorie Centre is situated near Shek Kong in Hong Kongs New Territories. The Centre takes a cross-disciplinary approach to address urgent challenges in agriculture energy systems water resources nature conservation and more. By integrating scientific knowledge at both regional and global levels the Centre drives technological innovation for addition to supporting scholars and students from the University the Centre places a strong emphasis on collaborative innovation with local and international academic communities advancing interdisciplinary solutions to complex global challenges.

The Role

The appointee will support the marketing development of the Centre a full range of administrative duties HR and personnel matters providing comprehensive clerical support to staff members supporting general office operations contributing to ad-hoc departmental events and performing other duties as assigned by the Director or his delegate.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • Bachelors degree with at least 5 years working experience; OR 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics; OR minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 10 years work experience preferably in the tertiary education sector.
  • Knowledge andsolidexperience in office administration human resources management and strong communication;
  • Good command of written and spoken English Chinese and Putonghua;
  • IT proficiency skills including MS Word and MS Excel;
  • Good team player;
  • Self-motivation with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details; and
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines and to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
