Senior Manager/Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (Ref.: 534084) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelors degree or above preferably in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) or related disciplines; a higher degree will be an advantage.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: start-up business technology commercialisation innovation management or start-up incubation programmes.
- Experience in event management community building and/or public communications will be an advantage.
- An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently with initiative.
- Sound judgment and the capacity for independent decision-making.
- A strong interest in entrepreneurship technology development and market trends in Hong Kong and worldwide.
The appointee will primarily work for HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core the Universitys innovation & entrepreneurship resource centre () to support its existing entrepreneurship programmes as well as new initiatives.
He/She will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing entrepreneurship incubation programmes and new initiatives to foster entrepreneurship culture on campus.
- Strengthen support for start-ups in areas such as marketing competitions exhibitions and fundraising.
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including faculty members students graduates and start-ups.
- Assisting with event management public relations and marketing including resource allocation logistics coordination and deliverables management.
- Participating in ad-hoc projects and performing other duties as assigned by the Director or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or travel occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview. Applicants with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Manager.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
