Job Summary
The Job Mission
This is a site-based role located in Bridgwater. Relocation support is available for candidates moving closer to site. As a Piping Engineer you will support the delivery of the mechanical electrical and HVAC piping scope at Hinkley Point C. You will gain exposure to site-based engineering contributing to installation activities and learning from experienced engineers as you help deliver one of the UKs most important energy projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the management of piping installation within designated site areas
- Preparing and updating technical documentation and inspection plans
- Supporting the resolution of construction queries and technical issues
- Reviewing and coordinating contractor deliverables with senior engineers
- Helping to maintain works information documents and records
- Providing input during technical discussions and project meetings
- Ensuring construction activities align with quality and safety requirements
- Supporting post-construction activities such as pressure testing and inspection packs
Qualifications :
Essential Skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant discipline)
- Some experience within engineering or construction environments
- Knowledge of engineering standards and safe working practices
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to develop technical expertise in a site-based role
Desired Skills
- Experience in large infrastructure or energy projects
- Understanding of piping design or installation practices
- Awareness of UK construction safety regulations (CDM)
- Interest in developing towards Chartered Engineer status
