  • Drive strategic impact at the executive level by delivering high-level planning policy and business support that shapes critical government initiatives across housing energy and industry
  • Temporary (12-month full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Office location based in Parramatta with flexible working supported
  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $151227 to $176110 super

The role

This fast-paced role offers unmatched exposure to transformative projects spanning renewable energy mining and extractive industries industrial development and key policy initiatives that relate to these sectors. You will also be engaged in projects that qualify for the newly established Investment Delivery Authority program. Youll work closely with Executive Directors and senior stakeholders translating complex information into clear strategic advice that supports high-level planning and policy delivery under tight timeframes.

This role presents a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to step up into a leadership position or pivot into a dynamic new challenge within the team

As Executive Planning Officer youll navigate competing priorities with confidencecoordinating briefings synthesising research and driving operational excellence across a broad remit. Its a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on government strategy while building deep insight into the machinery of public sector innovation.

What you will bring to the role

  • Expertise in managing executive office systems workflows and priorities to ensure smooth high-functioning operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distil complex policy planning and operational information into clear actionable insights.
  • Proven experience producing high-quality reports briefings and correspondence under pressure and within tight timeframes.
  • Skilled in stakeholder coordination with a track record of supporting senior executives and navigating cross-agency collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor performance metrics and contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery and reporting

What is an essential requirement:

  • Degree qualification in planning environmental science or management or a related discipline and/or relevant experience working within a planning environment at a more senior level.
