General Duties: The 2025-2026 Caminos 9 -12 Curriculum and bi-iteracy development Working Group will engage in a series of PD led by Dr. Mishelle Jurado from DLeNM. The PD will focus on study of biliteracy instruction and curriculum vertical alignment development for the expansion of the Caminos Dualangugae program at CHS. The principles and key points identified in Strand 3: Instruction from the Center for Applied Linguistics Guiding Principles of Dual Language Education (GPDLE) will serve as a key resource for learning self reflection and continual improvement as well as the resources from DL of New Mexico. Together teachers will build a shared understanding of biliteracy practices including integrating language and content instruction using pedagogical strategies to increase comprehension for bilingual learners bridging language and content across and within classrooms and developing students metacognitive awareness. Participants will unpack current research on dual language curricula and work collectively to review and as needed draft recommendations for the Caminos Leadership Team.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an educator who is teaching in the DL program or is interested in teaching in the DL Program. We are looking for Spanish teachers either in the World Language or the caminos program across the schools.
Duties: 9 - 12 teachers will build a shared understanding of biliteracy practices including integrating language and content instruction using pedagogical strategies to increase comprehension for bilingual learners bridging language and content across and within classrooms and developing students metacognitive awareness. Create a 9 -12 curriculum pathways for Spanish Language Arts classes.
Compensation: Teachers will be paid at the contractual rate for work outside of the school day (up to 8 hours total).
