Description
This on-site contract position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the mental health of young patients in a supportive and collaborative environment.
In this role you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations developing treatment plans and delivering therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of children and adolescents. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care and contribute to ongoing projects aimed at enhancing mental health services within the community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide ongoing therapy and medication management
- Collaborate with families schools and community resources
- Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Stay current with best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry
- Educate families and caregivers about mental health issues
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Board certification or eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Experience in psychiatric evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient-centered care
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of patients and families
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts
Weeknight and weekend call shifts required
Setting: Inpatient
Patient Population: Children and adolescents
Daily Census: 18 patients (2-3 new patients 15-18 follow-ups)
Average Length of Stay: 8.7 days
Cases: General psych diagnosis
Current Team Structure: 8 psychiatrists 1 APP
Must be board-certified
