Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Urology/Nephrology unit provides skilled nursing care to patients working Charge as needed. This role involves administering medications monitoring patient conditions and collaborating with the healthcare team. The RN must be capable of floating to other Medical Surgical units to meet facility needs and may work every other weekend.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the Urology/Nephrology unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform remote telemetry monitoring.
- Utilize Rapid Response Teams in emergency situations.
- Manage pre/post hemodialysis patients.
- Provide care for patients with renal failure.
- Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines.
- Start IVs and manage PICC lines.
- Administer Heparin.
- Manage patients with chest tubes CPAP/BiPAP and high flow nasal cannula.
- Perform non-invasive airway management and oral suctioning.
- Utilize portable oxygen tanks.
- Implement isolation precautions and provide wound care.
- Work Charge as needed for this assignment.
- Float to other Medical Surgical units to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical/surgical nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in IL.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with MS/Tele and Med/Surg.
- Telemetry- remote monitoring.
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management.
- Renal failure.
- Blood Product Administration.
- Central line blood draw.
- Peripheral Line Care/Management.
- PICC line management.
- Starting IVs.
- Heparin administration.
- Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac.
- CPAP/BiPAP.
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
- Nasal Cannula.
- Non-invasive airway management.
- Oral suctioning.
- Portable Oxygen tank.
- Isolation Precautions.
- Wound Care/Wound Vac.
- Cerner experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Solid foundation as an RN if new to travel nursing.
Special Considerations:
- Will work every other weekend.
- May float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
- RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Scheduling:
- 4x12 or 3x12 Nights (1845-0715).
- Open to accommodating block schedule but not guaranteed.
