We are currently hiring Staff Nurses Orthopaedics for a reputed hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with musculoskeletal injuries fractures and post-operative orthopaedic conditions.
Assist in the pre-operative and post-operative management of orthopaedic patients.
Administer medications pain management and wound care in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Monitor patient progress assess mobility and support physiotherapy and rehabilitation plans.
Prepare and maintain sterile environments for dressing changes and minor procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons physiotherapists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
Educate patients and families on post-surgical care mobility techniques and prevention of complications.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care treatments and observations.
Adhere to infection prevention health and safety protocols within the orthopaedic unit.
Respond effectively to emergencies and provide support during patient transfers and positioning.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration with e.g. NMBI / NMC or relevant board
Minimum 2 years of experience in an orthopaedic surgical or acute care setting preferred
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Manual Handling desirable
must have 1 year or more experience in an Acute Irish Hospital

Comprehensive patient assessment monitoring and evaluating patients with fractures joint replacements and musculoskeletal conditions Pre- and post-operative care preparing patients for surgery and managing recovery and rehabilitation Wound and dressing management caring for surgical incisions drains and orthopaedic wounds Pain management administering analgesics and evaluating pain relief effectiveness Cast and traction care applying monitoring and maintaining casts splints and traction equipment Mobility and rehabilitation support assisting with safe mobilization and coordinating with physiotherapists Infection prevention and control maintaining aseptic techniques and ensuring a clean safe environment
Required Education:
Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification from a recognized nursing registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body (e.g. NMBI in Ireland NMC in the UK or the equivalent in other countries).Post-basic or specialized training in Orthopaedics is desirable but not always of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Life Support (ALS) or other emergency care certifications are a plus.
