Reports to:
School Administration (Principal and Assistant Principals) and District Administration
General Purpose of Position:
The Student Support Services Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring student success by providing academic attendance and administrative support within the school environment. This position assists with monitoring key academic programs maintaining attendance compliance and supporting daily campus operations to foster a positive and productive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities Duties & Expectations:
Academic Support: Monitor student progress engagement and completion rates in all online learning platforms and courses. Communicate with students teachers and parents to support successful academic outcomes.
Attendance Compliance: Assist the Attendance Department with daily attendance procedures including logging absences processing excused/unexcused documentation and generating attendance reports.
Truancy Support: Monitor students with excessive absences assist with preparing documentation for truancy meetings and communicate with parents or guardians regarding attendance concerns.
Campus Supervision: Support a safe and orderly school environment by assisting with supervision in common areas such as hallways cafeterias study spaces and classrooms as needed.
Administrative Assistance: Provide general clerical and operational support to school administrators and staff as assigned.
Collaboration: Establish and maintain positive cooperative relationships with students parents and colleagues to enhance student support services.
Professional Conduct: Maintain appropriate and ethical work habits including punctuality confidentiality and compliance with district policies and procedures.
Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally with students families and staff using both written and verbal communication.
Safety: Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students staff and school property at all times.
Policy Adherence: Uphold and enforce school board policy administrative procedures and school rules and regulations in all interactions and responsibilities.
Evaluation and Measurement of Performance:
All Student Support Services Specialists are evaluated through formal and informal observations by School Administration and/or Central Services Administration based on performance professionalism and effectiveness in supporting student success and school operations.
Terms of Employment:
Full-Time or 10-Month Position Salary determined by the MGSD Classified Salary Schedule
