As a GE Appliances Tax Analyst youll play a key role in keeping our business compliant and financially this role youll support both the Direct and Indirect Tax functions including state income tax sales & use tax property tax and credits and incentives with everything from preparing journal entries and account reconciliations to driving tax filings and payments. Youll dig into tax data help resolve variances maintain reporting schedules and provide insights for internal and external reporting. Youll assist in preparing corporate income tax returns maintaining compliance documentation and tracking state tax credits and state-specific modifications.

How Youll Create Possibilities

Sales & Property Tax Compliance (40%)

Sales & Property Tax Compliance:

  • Assists indirect Tax Manager in compiling sales and use tax transaction data from non Oracle ERP systems .

Tax Payment Processing:

  • Assists Indirect Tax Manager with funding requests for vendor managed imprest accounts for making indirect tax payments.

General Ledger & Tax Account Management:

  • Prepares and posts journal entries (JEs) for tax accruals true-ups and adjustments to the General Ledger.
  • Prepares General Ledger account reconciliations for accrued and paid indirect taxes.
  • Investigates and resolves variances in tax accounts ensuring proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Monitors and manages unabsorbed credit balances and ensures proper application or refund processing.
  • Assist in data collection for indirect tax audits

Financial Statement & PBC Requests:

  • Provides indirect tax financial data to support external and internal reporting requirements.
  • Assists with preparing internal reporting package schedules including indirect tax activity.

Credit & Incentive Reporting (15%)

Annual Performance and Compliance Submissions:

  • Gathers supporting documentation relevant to Company employment investment and operating obligations relevant to Company submissions to be made to various state & local authorities.
  • Maintains reporting calendar of such submissions and prepares all related forms and supplemental schedules.

State Income Tax Compliance (45%)

Quarterly Estimated Tax Payments:

  • Assists with preparation and filing of Company quarterly estimated tax payments including extension estimates.
  • Coordinates payments with GEA Treasury and reconciles with Gl account activity.

Annual Income Tax Returns:

  • Assists to gather and compile nexus attributes for apportionment purposes.
  • Assists with preparation and filing of Company returns including required tax payments and tracking filing receipt documentation.
  • Coordinates payments with GEA Treasury and reconciles that with GL account activity.
  • Updates and maintains carryforward scheduling of unutilized credits and NOLs and state modifications to fixed assets.

  • Operational Execution: Independently manages a range of recurring finance processes identifying opportunities for automation or efficiency improvements ensuring timely and error-free outputs.
  • Business Partnership: Contributes to financial planning and project discussions by translating business goals into financial implications and collaborating across functions to support accurate tracking and resource alignment.
  • Controllership & Risk Management: Identifies compliance gaps or anomalies in financial data proactively addresses minor control issues and supports risk mitigation efforts in collaboration with more senior team members.

Educational and Experiential Background

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2-3 years prior relevant experience.
  • Actively working toward CPA and meet the eligibility requirements to sit for the CPA exam.
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite in the office.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • CPA license is preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel as well as experience with Oracle ERP and Corptax software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external authorities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
