Job Summary

  • Work as a member of the proprietary trading business to serve the micro-structure of the power natural gas and other energy-related markets in North America by applying mathematical statistical and machine learning techniques to address practical issues in finance.
  • Apply financial analytical skills to structure complex problems model power markets and make profitable trading decisions.
  • Execute quantitative trade strategies to develop broader discretionary trade views.
  • Leverage analytical techniques to derive trade idea generation.
  • Apply coding automation and analytics capabilities to help predict portfolio positions and gain edge.
  • Assume ownership of risk related to development of platforms for Energy Commodities trading.
  • Work with and add to a data lake of timeseries with sub-hourly frequencies textual data for various service operators in North America.
  • Scrape store clean and analyze datasets

Qualifications :

  1. Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Finance Financial Engineering Engineering Computer Science Mathematics Statistics or a related field and 5 years of post-bachelors progressive related work experience; OR a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Finance Financial Engineering Engineering Computer Science Mathematics Statistics or a related field and 1 year of related work experience.
  2. Of the required experience must have 1 year of experience with the following:
  • Using statistical methods and machine learning techniques to support trading decisions;
  • Applying mathematical concepts including Linear Algebra Probability and Statistics;
  • Writing scalable code using Python SQL Bash scripting and GitLab;
  • Utilizing Coder Argo or Kubernetes platforms to automate tasks and build analytics;
  • Developing trading strategies within the energy commodity proprietary trading environment
