Your Tasks
Role Purpose
The Junior S&CM Manager supports the development and execution of shopper and customer marketing strategies for the Face Care category across Sub-Saharan Africa. The role focuses on driving category growth strengthening brand visibility at point of sale (POS) and supporting the sales team with insights tools and activations.
1) Planning & Strategy Support
- Assist in developing shopper and customer marketing plans aligned with category strategy.
- Support annual business planning (ABP) fast-start reviews and category workstreams.
- Help translate brand strategies into customer/channel execution plans.
- Builds up annual budget for sub-category based on strategy.
- Conducts any deep dives (Category Success Model exercise) needed to develop sub-category in area of responsibility.
2) Commercial Operation
- In-store communication: develops in-store communications (POSM claims any other input) provided to POS manager for further materials production builds up store plan to allocate POSM tracks execution
- Introduces new products to market: provides selling story trade materials collaborates with marketing to deliver sales samples builds up activation plans ensures on time and in full delivery
- Delivers annual activation plans for category in area of responsibility (from idea to post evaluation)
- Controls budget in area of responsibility to deliver budget with forecast accuracy deviation no more than 2%
3) Insights & Analytic
- Tracks category performance (WD sales ranging etc.) shopper trends and competitor activity in key retail environments and customers
- Provides data analysis to identify opportunities and gaps for Face Care in trade
- Provides input to category and customer reviews on regular basis including WD POSM activation NPD performance competitor activities in POSM leaflets NPDs
- Assist in developing shopper insights presentations for internal and external stakeholders
4) Store Execution & Field Support
- Participate in field immersions/trade visits to monitor execution competitor activities and retail dynamics.
- Support reporting on compliance with primary shelf KPIs and distribution targets.
Your Profile
Experience and Education
- Tertiary qualification (BCom/BA/IMM or related).
- 23 years experience in Trade Marketing Shopper Marketing Sales or Brand Marketing (FMCG preferred).
- Exposure to Sub-Saharan Africa retail environment (advantageous)
Skills and attributes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to build collaborative relationships.
- Customer-centric mindset with ability to translate shopper insights into action.
