Duties and Responsibilities (*Denotes Essential Functions):


Service Administration

  • *Exercise administrative responsibility for the efficient and accurate execution of financial aid processes to provide needy and/or qualified students with financial assistance to attain their educational goals.
  • *Work in collaboration with others to create propose implement and evaluate a comprehensive variety of strategies services programs and activities directed toward helping students address financial issues and meeting their financial needs.
  • *Plan administer and evaluate financial aid programs ensuring compliance with lawsregulations policies and guidelines of the federal government state government and University. This includes crafting implementingand evaluating processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of service as well as submitting annual fiscal and other programmatic reports as required by federal state or University requests.
  • *Track student financial assistance and academic enrollment histories and the impactof past histories on continued eligibility toreceive financial aid inthe future including student compliance with satisfactory academic progress and course relevance to declared program of study as specified by federal state and University regulationsrulespolicies and procedures.
  • *Retrieve implement and evaluate student enrollment and academic performance against financial assistance criteria and respond with adjusted financial aid as allowed.This includes but is not limited to performing verification reviews award revisions and loan originations; liaising with Banner Central General Accounting & Loan Collection System Financial Aid and other offices to maintain online financial aid modules of Banner and STAR.
  • *Provide services to students to better understand financial aid and to receive advice for appropriate follow-up steps by students. Thisincludes butis not limited to the scheduling and conducting of workshops informational sessions etc.for students new to the campus continuing students and prospective students;outreach visits to high schools and community locales to increase awareness of financial assistance opportunitiessources etc.and to encourage completion of FAFSA and other applications for admittance; the development and execution of communication plans and promotional materials including management of the content and formats of webpages and other social media; responding toinquiriesin a timely manner face to face in writing via email phone and other media.
  • Review individual situations requiring professional judgment in matters as they relate to satisfactory academic progress complete withdrawals enrollment changes R2T4 default management loan repayment loan exits dependency override etc.
  • Assist the Enrollment Services Team with events related to the application enrollment and matriculation of prospective accepted and enrolled students.

Administrative Services

  • *Manage and direct facilities services and operations related to federal financial aid state financial aid institutional financial aidprivate scholarshipsetc.
  • *Provide accurate information to inquiriesregarding financial assistance and enrollment processes in a professional articulate and timely manner via face to face written email and telephone interactions exemplifying servicecentered on the student approach when responding to requests and inquiries.
  • *Maintain student records and files for required transmission to national databases for financial aidcreating and up keeping a resource library of current literature manuals reference materials and forms to accurately interpret and apply federal state and institutional regulations policies and procedures.
  • Provide oversight and direction for recruitment interviewing selection counseling training supervision and evaluation of professional classified paraprofessional and others for student financial assistance and other enrollment programs.
  • Exercise budgetary direction and accountability for delegated accounts/programs.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting annual fiscal programmatic and other reports required by federal state institutional or private agencies offices etc.
  • Develop interpret implement and revise as needed appropriate policies procedures and operational manuals governing assigned programs facilities and servicesworking closely with others to review and evaluate such policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Communications inthe concept development and production of outreach materials brochures and literature used for student financial aid.

Other

  • Provide management skills and knowledge to include serving in absence of supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:


  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business administration management social sciences education or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for providing educational services or assistance to students including student financial aid administration student affairs administration or provision of administrative operational and technical support; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of student financial aid student enrollment student support services student affairs administration operational management or technical support services as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
  3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with student financial aid student enrollment student support services student affairs administration operational management or technical support services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  8. For supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.

  1. Considerable knowledge of organizational processes as applied to the management and analysis of operations services facilities and programs.

Desirable Qualifications:


  1. The equivalent of four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for providing studentfinancial aid administration student affairs administration or provision of administrative operational or technical support or related work experience including some supervisory experience; or equivalent education/training or experience.
  2. Experience working with non-traditional students andunderserved populations.
  3. Experience with student information systems in higher education.
  4. Masters degree in business administrationmanagementsocial sciences educationor related field.
