| Position Summary: | The position of Associate Dean for Academics and Student Success is a key position in the School of Engineering (SoE) at the University of Dayton. The position is to be filled by a tenured School of Engineering faculty member for a 3-year appointment with the possibility of reappointment. The position provides primary support to the Dean and School of Engineering in the areas of curriculum development and innovation experiential learning and undergraduate and graduate student success and retention. This role chairs the SoE undergraduate and graduate studies committees and liaises and collaborates with several other academic units and university offices that consult on university policy for academics and student success. The Associate Dean for Academics and Student Success is responsible for certain SoE operations and policies as assigned by the Dean of Engineering and serves as a member of the Academic Leadership Council. Within SoE this position provides supervision to assistant deans the graduate coordinator and engineering lab managers. Also as directed by the School of Engineering Dean this Associate Dean will represent the Dean of Engineering on occasions and SoE associate deans typically teach one course per academic year. This 12-month at will administrative staff appointment position accrues vacation and sick leave in accordance with university policy. - strategic planning and implementing strategic initiatives

- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Effective classroom management skills
- Effective oral communication skills
- Commitment to breadth of education including educating the whole person in the Marianist tradition to support social justice inclusive excellence and a commitment of service to the community university and profession.
