Payroll Assistant - Transportation & Logistics (Bilingual Spanish Required)
Location: Cerritos CA (100% Onsite)
Pay: $20-$25/hour (DOE)
Duration: Temporary - Approximately 3-Month Assignment (Medical Leave Coverage)
About the Opportunity:
Were partnering with a fast-moving transportation and logistics company in Cerritos that keeps Southern California running day and night - and theyre looking for a sharp dependable Payroll Assistant to join the team!
This is a hands-on role where youll play a key part in making sure hundreds of paychecks go out accurately and on time. If youre bilingual in Spanish and love solving problems staying organized and keeping payroll running smoothly this could be your perfect next step.
Youll be covering a 3-month medical leave with the possibility of extension if the incumbent doesnt return - an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a well-known logistics employer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review enter and audit timecards for drivers dispatchers and warehouse employees
- Verify and process payroll data including overtime double-time and shift differentials
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws (meal/rest premiums missed punches etc.)
- Communicate with Spanish- and English-speaking employees to resolve pay questions
- Maintain employee records for new hires pay changes and terminations
- Assist with direct deposits garnishments and W-4 updates
- Prepare basic payroll reports and support the HR/payroll team during processing cycles
Details:
What Were Looking For:
- Bilingual Spanish/English - must be able to confidently communicate with all levels of staff
- 1-3 years of payroll or payroll support experience (hourly workforce preferred)
- Experience in transportation logistics or manufacturing environments a strong plus
- Familiarity with ADP Paylocity Kronos or similar payroll/timekeeping systems
- Solid knowledge of California wage & hour laws
- Strong attention to detail excellent follow-through and a calm approach under pressure
- Reliable team-oriented and ready to hit the ground running
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay:$20-$25/hour (depending on experience)
Location: 100% Onsite - Cerritos CA
