How will your ideas contribute to shaping whats next

As our new Design Manager youll be a key part of the Buildings team helping to shape the way we design and deliver complex and high-impact projects for the Department of Defence one of Aurecons platinum clients.

This role is based in Canberra where youll lead multidisciplinary teams in the design management of Defence facilities and infrastructure projects including the PDS 2.0 program and Capital Facilities and Infrastructure (CFI) portfolios.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating design delivery across multiple engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Leading stakeholder engagement with clients Defence representatives end users and external consultants.
• Driving excellence compliance and innovation across Defence projects.

While this role focuses on design management we have a strong preference for candidates with a technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering enabling you to also contribute to general engineering processes and input.

In addition to experience in design management the following will be highly regarded:

• Strong capability in leading coordination of internal design disciplines with external stakeholders including other consultants architects end users and authorities.
• Demonstrated experience in the Defence sector particularly in the PDS and CFI portfolios.
• A technical background in one of the following disciplines (preferred: Electrical or Mechanical):
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Fire Protection
  • Hydraulics
  • Security / ICT
• Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets schedules and deliverables.
