Job Summary

At Meadow View we are looking for engaging and positive Apprentice Support Workers to join our team to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

As an Apprentice Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more independent dignified and happy life. We are looking for forward thinkers who are able to offer new ideas on how to develop a persons opportunities and skills ranging from developing their own garden to cooking nutritious and different meals.

Not all support work will take place within the homes of the people we support. There will be lots of opportunities to access the local community and engage with the interests of the people you support. The people we support all have different interests and therefore we are looking for flexible and open minded support workers to support with activities such as walking days out to the cinema or visits to the seaside to name a few.

On a daily basis you will have a strong support network from the management team at Meadow View. We are a proactive team and work in partnership to ensure the best support for colleagues is provided so dont worry if you are new to care there is always someone you can turn to.

As an Apprentice youll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Initial training of 3 weeks Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm thereafter ongoing training all at your place of work near Tickhill in Doncaster. There are regular public buses from and to Doncaster. Also 1 day every fortnight spent at Doncaster College.
The shift patterns for this role:
Rolling rota of 4 days working then 2 off full and part weekends with 1 full weekend off every 6 weeks. Mix of shift patterns including early and late: Weekdays 7.30am 2.45pm and 1.45pm 10pm Weekends 7.30am 1.45pm and 1.15pm 10pm

About You

We are looking for ApprenticeSupport Workers who have a can do attitude outgoing and caring but have a calm demeanor when needed.You dont need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us. Ourexcellent training teamwill support you to become a qualified Support Worker which could see you on your journey to a career in care.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Maths/English (Grade 4/C) is desirable however a minimum of Level 1 in maths and English is essential for this apprenticeship with a requirement to upskill to functions skills level 2.
