We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in this role you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients in need. Your expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing treating and managing mental health conditions making a significant impact on the well-being of individuals in our care. Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness.
- Provide therapy and counseling to patients as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately.
- Stay current on advancements in psychiatric care and treatment modalities.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with specialization in Psychiatry.
- Proven experience working in a psychiatric setting.
- Excellent knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
Flexible Schedule: 8a-5p
No call shifts
Setting: Emergency department
Patient Volume: Up to 10 per shift
Patient Population: All ages
Support Staff: Psychiatrists social workers RNs
EMR: Epic
Board certification required
