Job Summary

We have a vacancy for a full-time Field Technician/Sample Reception in our Christchurch laboratory at Eurofins ELS NZ Ltd and we are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity.

Based at our Christchurch Food and Water Testing Laboratory this is a hands-on role reporting to the Regional Manager. The purpose of the role is to collect samples this involves collecting water samples from around the Canterbury region including but not limited to domestic taps pump houses reservoirs water mains rivers sea pools and waste treatment plants in an approved manner. Additionally there is a requirement to work internally within the laboratory in sample reception registering samples and ensuring customer data is accurately recorded. Days of work are 8 hours per day 5 days per week Monday to Friday additional hours may be required on some occasions.

This is a permanent full-time position and requires an experienced applicant.

Qualifications :

A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as chemistry Food Science/Technology Enviremental Science or equivalent

At least 2 years experience in a similar role in a food and water testing commercial lab/field enviroment.

Customer service experiance

Experience in monitoring and sampling ground and surface water

Experience in maintaining and calibrating scientific field eqipment

Laboratory Information Systems exposure

Strong understanding and committmet to laboratory/field safety procedures and quality control protocols

Extremely self motivated

Excellant attention to detail and problem solving skills

Computer literate

Proven ability to work independantly and as part of a team

Good communication and report writing skills

Must be legally entitled to work in NZ

Must be legally entitled to drive in NZ
