About the role Mō te tūranga:
Our Christchurch laboratory is offering an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Administrator to join the Specimen Reception team. Reporting to the Section Leader you will support a culture of continuous improvement and a solutions-focused mindset ensuring high standards of quality and service.
As the first point of contact for samples arriving at the laboratory you will play a key role in specimen handling and client support. Working collaboratively within the team you will receive and dispatch consumable orders to South Island clients and collect samples from local clients. This role suits someone who is friendly approachable and has excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Processing: Accurately process laboratory samples for diagnostic testing ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
- Consumables Management: Manage the receipt packing and dispatch of consumables to support diagnostic and analytical testing across departments.
- Sample Referrals: Coordinate the referral of samples to both internal and external laboratories maintaining appropriate documentation and tracking.
- Sample Handling: Handle and manage biological samples in accordance with safety quality and regulatory requirements.
- Laboratory and Client Support: Provide timely and effective support to laboratory teams and external clients contributing to smooth operational workflow and high-quality service delivery.
