Duties
As a member of the Patient Management Centre team the responsibilities of the PATIENT MANAGEMENT CENTRE REPRESENTATIVE include:
- Ensuring the provision of optimum customer services while patients are in the Preadmission Clinic
- Collecting verifying and correcting patient demographic information
- Generating revenue by investigating insurance coverage patient accommodation and allocation options
- Performing unit specific activities to ensure the effective operation of the unit
- Performing cross-functional responsibilities as required; performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested performing other duties consistent to the job classification as required.
Qualifications :
- Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
- Previous mainframe word processing database and spreadsheet experience
- Excellent Microsoft office skills including Word and Excel
- Previous working experience with work flow coordination of information - Pathways Health-care Scheduling (PHS) booking
- Knowledge and experience with Epic is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and patient/customer services skills; sensitivity to patients and families fears and anxieties - ability to use good judgment in assessing and/or responding to difficult situations
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Typing skills of 50 words/minute
- Ability to produce detail-oriented accurate work - ability to establish and adhere to priorities
- Ability to work as part of a team
- One year (1) related experience working in a health care environment preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Must be willing to be cross trained to clinic booking role
