Overview

AtkinsRealis is in search of a Contract Team Lead to join a transformative transit infrastructure project in Toronto. The Contract Team Lead will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision.

The role will report to the Commercial Director.

Your role

  • Leadership & Oversight:
    • Lead and mentor Senior Contract Administrators and Contract Administrators.
    • Ensure compliance with Alliance Management Plans Prime Contract Subcontracts and legal requirements.
  • Commercial & Contract Management:
    • Manage upstream Adjustment Events: entitlement assessment Prime Contract correspondence and substantiation of schedule/cost impacts.
    • Negotiate Terms and Conditions and subcontract departures secure approvals from Alliance and Commercial Directors.
    • Directly manage critical and complex subcontract packages.
    • Provide fair claim determination and amicably settle disputes maintaining a strong assertive approach when challenging subcontractors.
  • Subcontract Administration:
    • Oversee strategic management of downstream subcontracts.
    • Guide team on best practices for commitments change orders bonding holdbacks and progress claims.
    • Ensure attendance at subcontractor progress meetings for high-value/risk packages.
  • Controls & Reporting:
    • Maintain registers for change orders extensions of time subcontract status payments and approvals.
    • Compile accruals and support monthly project forecast reviews.
    • Assist Finance with audit queries and manage external dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
    • Work with Quality Safety and Completions teams to meet non-commercial requirements.
    • Promote commercial awareness through training and mentoring.
    • Capture lessons learned and improve subcontract systems and processes.

About you

  • 10 years in senior contract administration management or commercial roles.
  • Experience in large civil construction projects; electrical/mechanical knowledge is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; JD Edwards Aconex and ProCore experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills commercial acumen and high-level expertise in the Construction Act.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make timely decisions.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

Additional information

Expected compensation for this role is between $125000 - $171900 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
