Purpose of the role
The role translates high-quality education research and policy analysis in Early Childhood Education and Care into high-impact products for educators teachers leaders and policymakers. It involves development and dissemination of evidence-based practical guidance and resources. This includes engaging with a range of stakeholders to develop the guidance and tools so they can be easily accessed understood and implemented and to encourage their uptake and use.
Accountabilities:
- Scope plan and design teaching and learning guidance and resource development projects aligned to AEROs annual research agenda.
- Collaborate with AERO colleagues to inform project activities and deliverables.
- Develop evidence-based guidance and resources that support educators teachers leaders and policymakers to use more evidence-based practices.
- Provide high-quality advice and support for dissemination activities that maximise the impact of AERO research products on the Australian education community.
- Collaborate with colleagues from across AERO as well as external stakeholders to ensure research projects and products are high quality and high impact.
- Contribute strategic advice based on experience and expertise to the planning of AEROs annual research agenda and work plan.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
Essential requirements:
- Qualifications in education and / or public policy social sciences or another relevant discipline.
Key knowledge and experience:
- Experience in a team within an education system sector or organisation to deliver complex projects under tight timelines and competing priorities.
- Experience as a teacher in the early years of school/early childhood education and care or strong knowledge of these contexts including knowledge of the Australian education sector key stakeholders policies and frameworks.
- Proven experience working in/and or leading project teams to deliver high-quality products under tight timelines and competing priorities.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to translate technical and complex information concisely for diverse audiences including practical guidance and resources for practitioners.
