This is a remote position.
Schedule: MonFri 8:00 AM5:00 PM includes 1-hour unpaid break Alberta Canada (Mountain Time)
Paid hours per week: 40 Hours
Responsibilities:
- Take incoming calls and handle all phone communication with families staff and healthcare providers
- Confirm and coordinate scheduling between patients nurses and internal staff
- Review and process insurance documents and patient paperwork
- Update and maintain patient records in internal systems
- Handle urgent calls from families requesting immediate nursing support
- Perform administrative and back-end tasks to support daily operations
- Manage communication between different departments (nursing therapy administration)
- Return calls and send SMS communications as needed
- Support busy periods when demand for services increases
Requirements
- Healthcare background and customer service experience required
- Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to speak Tagalog fluently (due to Filipino staff and client base)
- HIPAA compliance knowledge or willingness to learn
- Experience with patient records and healthcare documentation
- Ability to work Canadian time zones (night shift in the Philippines)
- Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
- Professional phone manner and empathetic communication style
- Attention to detail for government-required documentation
Scope:
- Full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week minimum) options available
- Remote work from the Philippines with Canadian time zone alignment
- Integration with existing email systems CRM and internal healthcare platforms
- Phone system setup with a virtual dialer for a local Canadian presence
- Support for an organization serving 100 children across Edmonton and Calgary
- Potential for role expansion and additional virtual assistant hiring
- Month-to-month employment arrangement with a 90-day probation period
- Access to all necessary hardware software and internet connectivity is provided
