Job Summary

Were looking for a collaborative and student-centered Director of Student Support to join our leadership team. This full-time position plays a key role in ensuring that every student at Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School is supported academically socially and emotionally. Youll lead special education and student services restorative practices and compliance work while fostering a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects Hilltowns cooperative values. This is a leadership role that combines strategic planning team supervision and hands-on support. Youll work closely with the Head of School Director of Teaching & Learning and student support staff to align systems practices and policies that help every student Youll Do:Lead Student Services:Oversee all special education services including supervision of special educators and related service providers (e.g. speech OT counseling)Serve as the schools Special Education Administrator ensuring compliance with IDEA Section 504 and state regulationsOversee the development implementation and monitoring of IEPs and 504 plansCoordinate and monitor the socialemotional and behavioral components of MTSS ensuring they are equitable and aligned with academic supportsManage staffing scheduling and service delivery systems for special education counseling and related servicesFoster a Positive School Culture:Lead schoolwide efforts to build and sustain an inclusive and cooperative school climateOversee behavioral response systems and restorative practices to ensure consistency and alignment with the schools valuesSupervise the Student Behavior Support Coordinator and socialemotional support staffSupport restorative and developmentally appropriate approaches to student behavior including investigations and documentationPartner with families and staff to ensure clear communication and follow-up on behavioral incidentsEnsure Compliance & Accountability:Coordinate communication with DESE and other external agencies regarding student services and civil rights in collaboration with the Head of School and Director of Teaching & LearningLead implementation and compliance for all student services and civil rights requirements including special education Section 504 EL services bullying and restraint reportingAssist in preparing and managing required state and federal reports (e.g. Coordinated Program Reviews Integrated Monitoring Reviews Annual Reports Charter Renewal)Support compliance-related grant implementation (e.g. Title I/II/IV Safe and Supportive Schools Student Opportunity Act) ensuring alignment with student support priorities and regulationsMaintain accurate student records and data systems in accordance with FERPA and state regulationsEngage Families & Community:Build trusting collaborative relationships with students families and caregiversCommunicate proactively and clearly with families about student services supports and progressLead Team meetings and facilitate collaborative problem-solving regarding student needs and interventionsProvide families with accessible information about their rights services and the schools multi-tiered systems of supportParticipate in schoolwide events and community rituals to foster belongingStrategic Leadership:Serve as an active member of the leadership team contributing to strategic planning budgeting and policy developmentProvide data-informed recommendations to strengthen student support systems and improve student outcomesLead and participate in school-based teams and committees focused on student support and school climateDevelop and implement professional development for faculty and staff on restorative practices inclusive practices co-teaching and socialemotional and behavioral components of MTSSPromote equity and inclusion across all aspects of student support services policies and practicesWhat We Value:Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School is a K8 public charter school in Easthampton Massachusetts.
