The Engineering Manager is responsible for the effective execution of aircraft maintenance activities within Line Maintenance Operations across Melbourne. This role will lead and mentor a team of around 5 direct reports creating effective people development succession and training plans as well as building and maintaining a positive team culture. Alongside this this role will develop and implement key business initiatives to drive continuous improvement aligned with the strategic priorities outlined by the Qantas Group.
Youll have
- Extensive experience and a tertiary qualification in aircraft/engine/component maintenance Business or Aviation management or closely related high-tech risk intensive industry
- 5-7 years experience leading a team within Airline Maintenance Operations
- Familiarity with Civil Aviation regulations and other regulations governing industrial workforce management
- Broad experience and knowledge in Finance Human Resources Employee Relations
- Intellectual capability to quickly understand apply and embed new concepts in a complex business environment
- The ability to positively influence stakeholders at all levels front line to executive leaders to overcome roadblocks to deliver successful outcomes
- Demonstrated analytical and financial problem-solving skills
- Previous experience leading coaching and mentoring a small team of direct reports
